Romaeris Corporation is pleased to announce the completion of Phase 1 Flight Testing of the company’s new drone technology. This phase included the development, integration, testing, and improvement of systems necessary to fly the aircraft autonomously. The company conducted over 70 flight tests in 2017 and 2018 over thousands of kilometers including over 40 subsystems on board. The program proved out these subsystems and culminated with multiple flights during which the aircraft flew itself to programmed waypoints.
Phase 1 flights were conducted with a test pilot in the aircraft to supervise the functioning of all systems developed by the company. Phase 2 will include taxi tests and flights of the same prototype aircraft in unmanned, autonomous configuration with the pilot, seats, and control console removed and replaced with cargo.
“We are pleased to advance now to Phase 2 during which time we will show regulatory compliance, high technical standards, and readiness for customer pilot projects,” said Anthony Pizarro, President of Romaeris.
